WHAT TO SEE IN ROME IF YOU ONLY HAVE ONE DAY

Save this walking guide and play the game when you are in Rome:

Checkpoint №1 Colosseum

I suggest you start your route at the largest ancient amphitheatre ever built in the world and the most photographed symbol of Rome.

Checkpoint №2 Piazza Venezia

Huge white Vittoriano complex built in 1935 looks like a wedding cake, surrounded by the ruins of the Roman forum and the Trajan's column. I absolutely love this mix of eras and styles in Rome.

Checkpoint №3 Trevi Fountain

Probably the most famous fountain in the world, not only because of the “Dolce Vita” scene with Marcello Mastroiani or recent Fendi show where the model were walking above the water. Trevi fountain can only be seen without crowds at night or early in the morning, but it's still worth visiting, also if you only will be able to throw the coin to make a wish come back again.

Checkpoint №4 Pantheon

"Temple of All Gods”, a masterpiece of ancient architecture, built in 126 AD. The Pantheon was originally dedicated to the seven main Roman gods - Jupiter, Venus, Neptune and others, to be then consecrated as the Christian Church. There is always a queue to enter, but it is worth waiting to see the famous dome with an "oculus" - a hole with a diameter of 9 meters.

Checkpoint №5 Navona Square

This is one of the most beautiful baroque squares you have ever seen. its named after the word Agony (Greek for “competition”), which took place at the stadium until the 4th century. There are three fountains on the square, but you won’t be able to take your eyes off the central one, the fountain of the Four Rivers by Bernini. (Not the one that’s on the picture)

Checkpoint №6 Ponte Sant'Angelo

The bridge in front of Castel Sant’Angelo (a papal castle-fortress with a functioning secret passage between the Vatican and the castle). Keep an eye at the "army" of angels, which seem to be guarding the passage to the castle through the bridge.

Checkpoint №7 St. Peter's Basilica

Inside the St. Peter's Basilica you can admire the famous sculpture Pieta by Michelangelo and even climb up the dome to enjoy the view.
